The Rumney Historical Society Museum was dedicated in August, 1994. The museum is open to the public on Saturdays, 10-2, from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The purpose of the society is to preserve, maintain, and display all materials which accurately reflect upon the history of Rumney-past, present, and future-and to make such artifacts readily available to all interested persons.

The meetings and programs for the 2009 season are as follows:
Saturday, July 18 at 2 pm - Ice Cream Summer Social
Tour the museum, see the new Button Collection Exhibit, and enjoy our annual cake and ice cream social. Invite your friends and neighbors to come along. (Chairperson: Mary Barnes 786-9464)
Saturday, August 8 - Rumney ‘Old Home Day’
The museum will be open from 10 am until 4 pm.
Thursday, August 20 at 7 pm: A Musical Evening
An evening of old-fashioned music played on a 1911 Edison Phonograph. (Chairperson: Roger Daniels 786-9291)
Thursday, September 17 at 7pm – Buttons Then and Now
The Belknap Button Club will be entertaining us with everything you would ever want to know about buttons. Bring along a button you might like to know more about. (Chairperson: Sharlie Smith 786-9793)
Thursday, October 15 at 7 pm – Annual Business Meeting
Thursday, October 22 at 7 pm – Old Timers’ Night
The Old-Timers Panel will discuss Rumney’s industrial past. Questions from the audience will be welcome. (Chairperson: Roger Daniels 786-9291)
